Phil taught us how to embed videos in our blog posts and how to use scribd to present our presentations on our blog, which was all incredibly useful. I wanted to test out some of the things he taught us in this post.
I really love this short animation, it's both funny and has a lovely pixar quality to it which I like very much (I am a huge Pixar fan). The demon is also surprisingly cute and fluffy :3
Hi Sky,
ReplyDeleteme again! My name is Sam and I have been assigned to being your mentor. If you have any questions, need help with anything, don't hesitate to leave me a message : ))
Unfortunately I won't be able to help you on campus as I am a recent graduate, but anything I can do remotely via the Internet - no problem! Just let me know!
I also hope you are enjoying your first days in uni! :)
Thanks, Sam! I'm glad to see you're my mentor, I love your work :)
DeleteI will definitely contact you when I require any assistance. Thanks so much! If we could exchange emails that would be fab.
Hey Sky - great to see you rolling up your sleeves! But, notice how your embedded video is actually wider than your template? It's sort of 'hanging over the edge' of your content space: easily fixed: next time, look at the other embed options in terms of 'width x height' on Youtube etc. and choose a smaller option: or open this post back up using the edit function and switch to 'HTML' mode; look at all the code until you see the video embed code - which will look something like this:
ReplyDeleteiframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed ...
To 'shrink' your video as it appears on your blog, you can actually type a different value into both the height and width, which will then affect the dimensions of the embedded video - put simply, you're customising your own code to fit your blog - have a go, until you get the perfect fit, so that everything sits very nicely inside of the pale strip of your blog template - everything will look much more chic this way! :)
Thank you for the advice, I just fixed the width of the video and now it fits perfectly :)
Deletealso - and don't hate me for saying this - but you do look a bit glum in your blogger profile picture... no one likes taking their own photo, I know, but maybe something a bit more 'hurrah, I'm a fab artist!'? :)
ReplyDeleteMuch more smiley! Much more welcoming :)
