Bouncing ball character with background

Today we learned how to import a background from Photoshop into Flash and add it to our character animation. Meg also taught me how to create a new symbol and add layers in. Then I learned how to use the classic motion tween. This is all a bit confusing for me right now because there are loads of different steps to follow, but hopefully I will get the hang of it soon.

Here is the completed animation. For some reason, the quality is really bad in the gif version but it was fine in Flash. I'm not sure how to fix this.

Despite everything, I like how it turned out :)

Flash Morph Animation

I actually struggled a lot with this exercise for many reasons. First of all, the tablet would not work properly for me and I realised that drawing with it was quite difficult. I tried other tablets and the problem would remain. This slowed me down and it took me a lot longer than everyone else to complete my flash morph animation. The second mistake I realised was that I shouldn't have introduced colour into my animation because it made the whole process of morphing the objects both distracting, difficult and time-consuming.

Overall, I am not very satisfied with this and I will most likely go back and do this exercise again when I have the time.

Flash Morph Animation

I was absent for our last Character and Animation class with Meg, but I did look around online and found a tutorial for creating a Flash Morph animation.

I created my three drawings of a person, then a vegetable and then finally an animal and then used the tween option and selected shape tween. Looking at other people's morph animation, it seems that theirs is a lot smoother than mine so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not.

Anyway here it is. Feedback is appreciated.

Zoetrope Animation

In our first Character and Animation class, we were introduced to 2D animation, specifically animation created using zoetropes. After that we made our own zoetrope animation by making frame drawings on a zoetrope paper strip.

Here is mine:

Flash test

In our first Character and Animation class, we were taught the basics of Adobe Flash and encouraged to play around with the software to create something.

Here is what I came up with:
Flash is a very useful software for 2D animators and I am looking forward to learning more about it in our next upcoming lesson.
